Aucquire is currently helping pSiMedica to equip a new laboratory with equipment ranging
from
tables and chairs to complex analysis instruments. This equipment is being aquired at
substantially less than list price. For example here is a subset of the purchases made:

Costs include delivery but exclude VAT.
Not bad savings!
.....What is the twist?
|
|
They were bought at auction. So the costs above also include the auctioneers commission
and
delivery. Aucquire's fees are not shown. They were based on a daily rate for this project but
hardly made a dent on the savings.
This client has a budget of £300,000 but needs more equipment than the budget allowed.
As a
result of this approach they will be able to carry out many more types of test on their products
for themselves, saving them more money on the third party testing services they would
otherwise need.
Of course there are risks. There are no guarantees with auction purchases but I did
see
someone buy a £120,000 mass spectrometer, in it's packing case, with the makers guarantee
intact, for £32,000 . One of the items above had been out of it's box for two weeks. The
manufacturer's service manager came and talked to us (immediately after we had bought it at
the auction) about how the servicing of the unit could be maintained.
